Bokar Rinpoche Karma Ngedhon Chokyi Lodroe
- 1940: he was born in Drongpa Kyangrang in Ngari region.His father’s name was Tshenam and his mother’s name was Sonam Youdron.
- 1944: at the age of four the Sixteenth Gyalwang Karmapa Rigpai Dorje recognised him as the incarnation of the former Bokar Rinpoche and enthroned him at Bokar Monastery.
- He received the Pratimoksha, Boddhisattva and Mantrayana Vows first and foremost from the Gyalwang Karmapa Rigpai Dorje and Kyabje Kalu Rinpoche and also from many new and old masters from all schools of Tibetan Buddhism. He also received teachings on the Six Dharmas of Naropa and Mahamudra, along with complete transmissions, empowerments and instructions, like the contents of one vase poured into another, and achieved complete mastery.
- He traveled all over the world benefiting countless sentient beings.His activities, including the founding of the new Mirik Bokar Monastery, have paved the way for the Dharma to flourish for a long time.
- From among his activities, which were of limitless benefit to many sentient beings, the single-pointed effort he made towards the growth and stability of Kagyu Monlam, in accordance with the wishes of Kalu Rinpoche, deserves everybody’s praise.
- 2004: he died at the age of sixty four.
