General Information for
All Participants of the 25th Kagyu Monlam Chenmo
-
“Respect for
and protection of the environment” is one of the key issues of the 25th
Kagyu Monlam Chenmo. All participants are respectfully requested to
observe all related rules and co-operate with Monlam staff.
-
All teachings
given by the Gyalwang Karmapa during the ceremonies and the Five-Fold
Mahamudra Course will be translated simultaneously into Hindi, English,
Mandarin Chinese, and Korean. Please bring your own FM radio with
earphones and do not use mobile phones for reception, as they can
interfere with the transmission of radio signals.
-
Because of the
great number of participants and the limited space in front of the
Mahabodhi Temple, members of the sangha will be given priority in
seating arrangements. In addition, areas immediately adjourning various
small stupas will be closed off and kept clear as a sign of respect and
in an effort to preserve historical relics. To facilitate the flow of
ritual procedures and to respect the dignity of the sangha, lay
participants are requested not to enter the seating area of the sangha.
A small area will be reserved for members of the Friends of Kagyu Monlam
on a first-come-first-served basis daily. When this area is full, please
find a seat in one of the unreserved areas. Your co-operation and
understanding in this will be greatly appreciated.
-
When Monlam
events are in progress, participants should remain seated and refrain
from taking photos or videotaping to avoid disruption of ritual
procedures and to keep good order.
-
Due to new
enhanced security procedures set by the Indian authorities, the security
check will be much tighter this year during the Kagyu Monlam and
Gyalwang Karmapa’s teachings. Please bring a minimum with you −
passport, wallet, small bag, FM radio, earphones.
-
During the
Monlam period, those who wish to have an audience with Gyalwang Karmapa
can collect an application form from the Registration Unit (first floor,
Mahayana Guest House) or the Service Unit (first floor, Tergar
Monastery), and having completed it, return it to either unit to
schedule an appointment. Because of the extremely tight schedule, all
applicants will be put in groups for audience, so you may wish to
pre-arrange your group before submitting your application.
Additional Information
for Non-Indian Citizens and Non-Residents

photocopies of your passport details and your Indian visa, as well as
