Nagarjuna "A Letter to a
Friend"
Teachings with His Holiness the 17th Gyalwang Karmapa Ogyen Trinley Dorje

We are pleased to announce the teaching schedule of His Holiness The
Gyalwang Karmapa at the 27th Kagyu Monlam in December at Bodhgaya.
"A Letter to a Friend" is a text widely studied by all Buddhists, whether
one is a layperson or a monastic. It is a revered text written by the great
Indian master of Nalanda University, Acharya Nagarjuna. In this letter to
his friend King Gautamiputra, Acharya Nagarjuna gives a concise presentation
of the Buddha's Teachings for practitioners to use in their daily life. This
letter contains one hundred and twenty-three verses.

Sunday & Monday, 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM & 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM.
Wednesday, 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM.
Translation:
His Holiness will teach in Tibetan and the teachings will be translated into
English for all. There will also be live translation in eight different
languages (Mandarin, Korean, German, Spanish, French, Vietnamese, Polish,
and Russian) on FM radio.
Registration:
If you wish to attend the teaching, please first pre-register via e-mail.
There are two forms of pre-registration: personal and group (more then 1
person).
Personal Pre-Registration: Please e-mail your name and e-mail address to
monlamteaching@gmail.com.
Group Pre-Registration: Please e-mail the name and e-mail address of a group
representative (a single person will do), and the total number of group
members to
monlamteaching@gmail.com.
On-site Registration will be open from December 17-19, 2009 at Tergar
Monastery, Bodhgaya. The Registration Office will be behind Tergar Monastery
and will open from 8AM to 11AM, and then again from 2PM to 5PM. Before
coming to On-site Registration, please note that:
• After you have completed your pre-registration, you or your group will be
assigned a special ID number
• After you have received the ID number, please print out the e-mail page
and take it with you to India. We will need this ID number to complete your
On-site Registration

Offering:
There is no fee for the teachings, but participants will have the
opportunity to make teaching gifts and offerings to His Holiness.
Accommodation & Travel Information:
Please make your own arrangements for your individual accommodations. There
are several hotels and guesthouses in Bodhgaya, offering a range of services
and prices. You are highly encouraged to make your reservation early, as
