Programme
for the 28th Kagyu Monlam
The 28th Kagyu Monlam will be held from
15th – 22nd December 2010 in Bodh Gaya.
The 17th Gyalwang Karmapa and other high
Rinpoches will preside over the assembly of thousands of monks, nuns
and lay devotees who will pray for the well-being of the world and that
all sentient beings may be touched by the wisdom, compassion and power
of the buddhas and bodhisattvas.
Gyalwang Karmapa will give The Public Teaching
on
<The Aspiration Prayer of
Samantabhadra>. His Holiness will give oral instructions on different
meditations, and will give a commentary each day on one of the specific
prayers for that day.
In addition there will be different prayers recited
for the well-being of Tibet.
The Medicine Buddha Ritual, Tara and Guru Rinpoche
prayers and so forth will be recited for the benefit of the living,
and the Akshobhya Ritual and Fire Ritual will be offered for those
who have passed away. For the benefit of both the living and the
deceased, there will be a complete reading of the Kangyur, the Sixteen
Arhats Ritual, the Alms Procession, the Sutric tradition Guru Puja with
distribution of tsog, and the Lamp Prayer.
